Encouraging state agencies to buy more food produced in New York was another priority issue at American Farmland Trust’s No Farms No Food® Rally that is gaining traction. The Food Metrics Act S. 4061 /A. 5102 will require state agencies to track the state’s current food purchasing practices and encourage state institutions to buy more food produced in New York.
